Lola Velvet Heels

It’s no surprise these are CC’s most popular shoes. They’re high quality, classic with a modern-retro vibe, high but still comfortable and walkable, and unique—there’s nothing else like them on the market (trust me, I looked).

I got both the rust and green, unsure which would go better with the dress I’m wearing for an upcoming wedding. The rust is beautiful and accurate as to the online photos but ultimately kept the green. They look more like an emerald green online, but they’re more true “green” in person—it’s a subtle difference though.

And I’ll echo what a lot of other people have said about the sizing: they run very narrow in the front foot & toe area, so much so that a good chunk of potential buyers simply can’t wear these. I was almost in that camp…

I’m a solid US size 9 and normal width so I initially got the size 40, but the front toe box was suuuuper tight and my feet were slightly too wide to fit completely inside. I exchanged for the 41 instead and that fixed 90% of the problem—the other 10% I’ve been fixing by wearing them around my house with socks on to stretch them out.

They’re still slightly narrow though and yes, slightly longer than I’d like (wish they’d make half and wide sizes) but not too much. Actually gives me some room to put some cushioning in areas i tend to get blisters.

In a nutshell: heed our warnings about the sizing and buy these!!!

Gorgeous, comfortable and beautifully made

I bought a pair of the Lola velvet heels in the rose pink color years ago. They continue to be one of my favorite pairs of dress shoes, so I thought maybe it was time to buy another pair in a different color. I ordered the blue ones in the same size as my other pair. However, they are decidedly smaller than the pair I already owned. I'm pretty regularly a size 39 EU, and I wish I had gotten these in a 40. I think I can still make them work, but it's going to require some serious breaking in first.

I have wanted these shoes for a long time - like want them in every color. They arrived today and they are beautiful! - the color (rust) and material are lovely, exactly what I wanted. The toe box is a little small but I have wider feet and is a common issue for me so it was a wee bit expected - I have solutions for that. But the bigger problem lies with the ankle strap. One fits one doesn’t. I removed them and one is longer than the other another and the holes do not even line up. For me, these shoes are too expensive to have basic manufacturing errors like the ankle strap. Unfortunately, I made a rookie mistake when trying on these heels and walked on a hard surface (my kitchen floor) since that’s where I will be wearing them, the bottoms are now slightly scuffed and no longer look unworn and therefore cannot return them. Such a disappointment. Maybe they will be ok without the strap - at least it’s removable. Would also be great is they sold replacement straps. (Hint hint)
